Food Northwest Names Dave Dillon as New President

Portland, Oregon – May 23, 2022 – Food Northwest, one of the nation’s largest food processing trade associations, announced today that its board of directors has appointed Dave Dillon as president after a rigorous search process.

“On behalf of the board of directors, I'm happy to announce the hiring of Dave Dillon as Food Northwest's next president.

Dave has served the past 20 years leading Oregon Farm Bureau, Oregon's largest agricultural organization as its executive vice president. Dave has experience and success in an advocacy-focused member-serving association with close ties to our processing members. He brings the member value focus, staff building, and association leadership skills the board looked for in recruiting our next president.

Dave grew up in and has lived and worked in Food Northwest's region for over 25 years and has extensive experience in many of the public policy and business-related issues facing our members.

He is also a proven coalition builder and leader. Dave connected well with both the executive search committee and staff and has a clear understanding of both the challenges and opportunities Food Northwest has in front of us.

Dave's official start date is August 1. He is already connecting with me and our staff and is actively engaged in preparing for the work ahead.

Please join me in welcoming Dave Dillon to the Food Northwest family of members and suppliers."

Chair - Board of Directors

**About Food Northwest**

Established in 1914 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Food Northwest is one of the nation’s largest food processing trade associations.  Food Northwest has a current membership of 150 food processing companies in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho with over 230 production facilities throughout the Northwest in fruit and vegetable, seafood, dairy, poultry, bakery, specialty and fresh-cut food products as well as over 300 member suppliers of goods and services to the industry.  Food Northwest’s members include national companies with operations or headquarters in the Pacific Northwest, regional companies and locally-run family businesses, and affiliate members located outside the Northwest.

Food Northwest focuses its efforts in advocacy, policy, regulatory, and technical work on the major issues impacting the food industry: energy, environment, government affairs, operations and technical management, sustainability, and workforce development.  Processor members provide advice and guide association activities and priorities through participation on committees and task forces in these areas.  Northwest food processors are nationally recognized for their leadership and efforts to promote sustainability, to become more energy efficient, and to reduce greenhouse gas emission levels.  Food processors are on track to meet their goal set in 2009 to reduce industry-wide energy intensity by 25% in 10 years.
